Video Poker rules and instructions

Video Poker

The winning combination is the key notion in poker. A winning combination is some specific order in the player's cards. (If you are already familiar with the rules you can skip the next chapter and read the instructions to the virtual play mode only).

Rules

As every gambling game, video poker starts with a bet: the player deposits a coin into the machine, after which he is dealt 5 cards. Keeping in mind all the possible winning combinations, the player decides which of these cards to keep, and which to exchange.

The machine then exchanges the cards specified by player and checks his cards for winning combinations. The player receives a specific amount of money for every type of winning combination. It is also possible to double the amount won. To do that, the player has to agree to play a bonus game, in which he has to correctly guess the color of the top card of a virtual deck. A correct guess doubles the amount won, an incorrect one leaves the player with no winnings at all. A player can risk up to 5 times after every winning situation.

Winning combinations and payouts.
Name Description Payouts
(To calculate your win, multiply your bet by a number from this column)
Royal Flush

Royal Flush
The combination of the following cards of the same suit: Ace, King, Queen, Jack and 10.
250 (In machine games the bet is not returned to a player with the win, so having got this combination with the bet of one dollar, you win get exactly $250. If you bet the maximum possible number of tokens, payout reaches as high as 1000 to 1)
Straight Flush

Straight Flush
The combination of 5 cards of the same suit in sequence.
50
Four of a Kind

Four of a Kind
Four cards of the same denomination (e.g. fours 10's).
20
Full House

Full House
Two cards of the same denomination + three cards of another denomination (e.g.: three Kings and two 6's).
7
Flush

All cards of the same suit.
5
Straight

Straight

Cards that comprise a chain of increasing value, for example 8-9-10-Jack-Queen, or 10-Jack-Queen-King-Ace, or Ace-2-3-4-5. As you can see, Ace can be the lowest card (1) as well as the highest (11). The following combinations are not valid: Jack-Queen-King-Ace-2 or Queen-King-Ace-2-3, etc. Ace can be either the lowest or the highest card in the street. The cards don't necessarily have to be in such order, what's important is the possibility of building a chain like that from the cards currently held by player. For example, a 5-3-6-4-7 combination will be a street as well.
4
Three of a Kind

Three of a Kind
Three cards of the same denomination (for example, three 6's).
3
Two Pairs

Two Pairs
For example, two 6's and two 10's.
2
Jacks or Better

Jacks or Better
Two cards of the same denomination - Jacks or higher.
1 (having got this combination you just win back your money)

Instructions

  1. Selecting the number of tokens for the betFirst of all, use the arrow-shaped buttons in the right bottom of the screen to select the coin size you want to bet. The bet can be as high as 5 coins of the value you selected. Your total bet amount is the number of coins chosen, multiplied by the coin size selected. The more coins you bet, the more money you can win. Or lose, depending on the circumstances.
  2. There are various ways of choosing the number of coins: push one of the columns with numbers in the table of winnings; or use the Bet one or Bet max buttons. Each click on the Bet one button increases the bet by one coin. Pressing Bet max button increases the bet by five coins and deals the cards automatically.
  3. If you haven't made up your mind to make the maximum bet, push the Deal button to start dealing the cards.
  4. Choose which cards you wish to keep by pressing the Hold button underneath the card, or by clicking on the card itself.
  5. Click Deal to replace the cards that you did not choose to hold.
  6. During the game process you can double your winnings. If you collect at least the minimal winning combination you may risk. The machine will give you five cards face down, you are to guess what color card (red or black) is the outermost one from the left. If you are right in your guess, you win double your original payout. You may take it, or continue doubling until all five cards are opened. But still if the color is not guessed you will lose either the bet and your original winning. You may choose to Half double as well, which means you only double for a half of your winning amount with the remainder being awarded to your account balance. And you may refuse the prize gamble at all. Pushing the Collect button you will reserve all the won money in the primary game.
