Caribbean Poker rules and instructions

Caribbean Poker

Caribbean Poker has a worldwide popularity. It is a real classic: the casino visitors play against the dealer and who gets the better poker combination wins. (If you are familiar with the rules, you can skip the next chapter and read the instructions to the virtual play mode only).

Rules

A 52-cards deck is used. Before each game it is shuffled. After the player has made the initial bet - called ante - the dealer deals him five cards face up. Then the dealer gets his cards: only one is open, other four are face down.

The player evaluates the values of the given cards, trying to find the winning hand. Then he has to decide whether to fold or to proceed the game. If the first variant is chosen, the ante gets to the casino, the game is over. In case of the second way, the player trebles the ante (he should place the main bet) and four dealer's cards are being open.

If the dealer does not have at least Ace and King (the dealer does not qualify), the player gets all his bets back plus win at the rate of the ante - not depending on the cards he has.

If the dealer has the poker hand, his cards are being compared with the player's cards. One who has the better combination breaks the bank. If the player wins he gets his bets back plus winning equal to the sum of the ante plus the win equals to the product of the main bet by the coefficient of the player's poker combination (see list below).

If the dealer has a poker hand which is equal to player's hand, the winner is found by checking the cards not enabled in the hand.

  • Ace-King - according to the value of the third card, if their third cards are equal - according to the fourth, and so on.
  • Pair - according to the value of the third card, if their cards are equal - according to the fourth, and so on.
  • Two pairs - according to the higher pair, if the both of the pairs are equal - according to the value of the fifth card.
  • Flush - according to the value of the highest card.
  • Straight flush - according to the value of the higher card.

If the player and the dealer have completely equal combinations (moreover, if they both were lucky enough to get a Royal Flush), a push is announced and the player gets his ante back.

The side bet. The player can make an additional bet of 1 dollar. If he has one of the five higher poker combinations he would get from $50 to $1,000 plus his winnings. The winnings on the side bet does not depend whether the dealer "qualifies" of not - the main point is to have the better combination than the dealer.
